“1958 QUEEN FOR A DAY – TV show – Jack Bailey”

16 Jan

This reality tv show of the 1950s and 1960s was wholehearted and addressed the simplistic needs of women, with great emphasis on their families’ hardship.
The winner was the woman found
to have the most difficult life circumstances. She was crowned and robed “QUEEN FOR THE DAY!”

TV was new to broadcast airwaves and, very few businessmen or women had the opportunities or talent to explore commercial competition. Different from our present day, rapid technological advancements, ‘big’ money investors of the 1950s and early 1960s were cautious. All of these factors humbled America to moderate lifestyles and charity.

I totally remember this show from when I was a kid. It seems really strange now. I don’t recall all the hardship and humbleness….? Wow.
